Courtland Liddell is an accomplished Visual Artist, Record Producer, and Audio Engineer fromJackson, MS who has been involved in the creative arts since the tender age of five. During his adolescent years, Courtland recalls being in love with both visual art and music. One of his greatest musical inspirations was the late great Michael Jackson who inspired Courtland to be a singer/songwriter.
While attending high school Courtland would meet his best friendand fellow record producer, Jameson Parker. Parker was influential in introducing Courtland to music production and recording. After high school, Courtland went on to join the U.S.Army and serve with the elite U.S. Army Special Forces where he was deployed toAfghanistan. Upon his return through an unlikely encounter, Courtland would meet Leroy Jones Jr., owner and chief engineer of Sonic Signature Recording Studios in Jackson, MS.Through Jones, Courtland would receive his first opportunity to train and develop his skills and ear as a record producer and mixing engineer; but Courtland had a desire for more and after several talks with Jones. Jones suggested Courtland further his education and go toschool and learn the art of Post Production Sound and film making.
Ultimately, Courtland attended the prestigious Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where he received his BFA in Sound Design and minored in Entrepreneurship and Business Management. While attending SCAD Courtland became one of the youngest Certified Avid Protools Operators in the state of Mississippi. Along with his certification, he started multiple businesses including a clothing company, a design firm, and a music production company.
Fast forward to today, Courtland is a Grammy Award Winning Mixing and Mastering Engineer who mixed and mastered Lecrae and Tasha Cobbs Leonard’s Grammy Award Winning record“Your Power” in an untreated bedroom. Courtland is a teacher, mentor, business owner, and audio professional with over 15 years of experience in the Entertainment Industry. From creating stunning visual masterpieces, to producing and composing, to recording to mixing, Courtland’s credits range throughout the entire entertainment industry.
