Tricia Scariano

“Inspiring others during my journey”

After 37 years in the hair industry Tricia continues to accomplish her goal to make people feel beautiful and confident in themselves. Tricia has accomplished that successfully and will continue to achieve that goal as long as she is a Stylist.

Tricia impact to others would be to express your creative flow through your craft. “Don’t be defined by a box set of rules. Of course follow the rules of education and State board, but use your mind and listen to what your client wants and needs. Sometimes you have to be creative and think outside the box. A hairstylist is an artist! Also, don’t overlook our elderly or people in nursing homes, they like to feel attractive and cared for also.” Tricia works on her day off from her priority job as a stylist for a senior living facility with a memory care unit. Tricia is the stylist for the clients/patients that have Alzheimer’s and Dementia… “It’s hard work with lots of lifting and patience… and I have around 12-14 appointments on that one day. However, even though they don’t remember me or know why I am there, when I finish shampooing and styling their hair they give me the best smiles!!! Some even come by the salon later on during the day just to watch me… every time I think of quitting I remember those things.. the smiles and the silent drop by visits 😊!”

Tricia’s dream project has always to be an educator, like the ones seen at Hair Shows for continuing education. In 2007 Tricia went to an extensive 4 day training in Austin Texas, along with her salon co-manager. It was 4 days of tough classroom and practical training through Armstrong McCall Beauty. Tricia became a Certified AMCET (Armstrong McCall Educative Trainer)! Tricia was able to go and educate salons and beauty schools about new trends, techniques, and product knowledge. Tricia enjoyed her time with Armstrong McCall, but she has moved on and wants to continue to grow with the company. Tricia is presently with which is Supercuts!!

“My advice to others would be to stick with it, don’t give up. There are times when you will get frustrated and feel like nothing is going right… take 10, calm down and remember why you chose this profession. Please continue your education, this is an ever changing industry and classes are offered periodically. Take them! Some are even offered for free, or a minimal fee. Stay on top of the current trends and you will be able to attend to your clients needs with CONFIDENCE!”

“Also, remember to enjoy what you do. If you love what you do.. you will never “work” a day in your life! ✌🏻”
